It’s why we’re careful, why we don’t chase every passing trend, and why we’d rather get the quiet, important things right than pile on flashy extras we’ll regret later. The goal isn’t to be the most exciting app you open this month. It’s to be the one you never have to worry about.

What “trust” means to us

We’re honest about the deal. You pay for the app, and in return you get the app — a tool that’s worth paying for, made by people who want it to keep earning that. Simple, and the way it should be.

We keep your work with you. Your files stay on your own device, not on servers we run. The less that ever leaves your hands, the less there is to lose, leak, or misuse — so we designed things to keep it close.

We don’t lock the doors. Your things are always yours to take somewhere else. Knowing you can leave is what makes staying a choice instead of a trap.

We sweat the boring details. The parts you never see — keeping your work safe, making sure nothing gets lost, quietly handling the hiccups — are exactly the parts we spend the most time on.

Good software is mostly restraint: the clutter we left out, the shortcuts we chose not to take, the tricks we decided not to play.

We’re careful about how we build things so they keep working for the long haul. We favor tried-and-true approaches over whatever’s fashionable this year, and we store your work in plain, lasting formats — so the things you rely on today are still around and usable years from now, even as the technology around them keeps changing.
